Michael Carrick has quit as Manchester United ‘s first team coach after ending his campaign with a 3-2 win over Arsenal.

Carrick was spurred on by the club after the club sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. He performed well in three games in the 2-0 win over Villarreal in Europe. The followed by a 1-1 draw with Chelsea and culminating in a 3-2 win over Arsenal on Thursday.

“Michael leaves with a heartfelt thanks and wishes to everyone at Manchester United. That after 15 years of service at the club as a player and a coach.”

“While we all regret that he bid farewell. But it’s understandable that Michael’s decision will be remember as one of the best midfielders in Manchester United’s history and more recently. 

As a great coach who has worked tirelessly under two managers to help develop a strong player that Ralph (Rangnick) will take over from now on.”

The director of football said on Manchester United’s official website.  For Michael Carrick, he joined Manchester United from West Ham in 2006 before playing for the club until 2018. And he moved up to first-team coach under Jose Mourinho, followed by O. Le Gunnar Solskjaer. Then he serve to interrupt the army after Solcha was released.

“While we are sad to see him go, we respect and understand Michael’s decision.

“He will always be known as one of the best midfielders in Manchester United history and more recently. As an excellent coach who has worked tirelessly under the guidance of two managers to help develop the strong team including Ralf will now be in charge.

“We are grateful for the consistent leadership that Michael has shown throughout this period of managerial transition. Although he is now stepping away from his day-to-day involvement. He will always be welcome as a legend of the club.”
